The resurgence of the film industry in recent years, encouraged through the government tax incentives, has triggered an influx of filming, making use of the world-class studio and technical facilities in the UK. This has increased demand to film on location, for which planning permission is often required.
Planit Consulting has worked with the film Industry and TV production companies for a number of years advising on, and gaining permission for, location filming on a range of highly sensitive sites.
In 2014 and 2015 Planit Consulting, working alongside the British Film Commission, successfully lobbied Government to issue Permitted Development Rights for filming on land and within buildings. Through the use of the Prior Notification procedure, we assist Location Managers to secure the necessary temporary permissions to film in a range of locations in the UK.
We have successfully negotiated permissions for the use of a range of sites for television dramas and feature films.
More recently we have worked with site owners to secure temporary permission for use of land for filming for both BBC and ITV series and dramas.
